Co-designed by the GEC team and the Expert Committee of International Competency Talent Training, the GCD project was launched to develop a series of global competency training courses for Chinese students, focusing on their weak areas in terms of global competency, and preparing them for future studies and careers in an international context.
Collaborating with top universities across the world, GEC has built several research centers to promote university-industry collaboration and create research opportunities for students, scholars, and teachers, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University - GEC Academy Center of Innovative Design for Interdisciplinary Studies, Lanzhou University - GEC Academy Synthetic Biology Innovative Joint Research Center, and Greater Bay Area (Shenzhen) Life Science Collaborative Education Industrial Practice Base.
Global Masters Talks bring together professors from world-renowned universities, highly cited researchers, international awards winners, influential scholars, and members of international professional and technical associations to give lectures and presentations to all GEC students. Talks are held every Thursday online, among which students can attend the one(s) that match their interests.
GEC partners with universities on four continents to offer many college credit programs, including year, semester, and summer term courses to GEC students. Our students are demonstrated to become more dynamic, creative, inventive, and adaptable when exposed to different viewpoints from various cultures. These are the characteristics that upcoming companies are looking for in a globalized society.
